2015 will go down as a memorable year for CCI South Africa (CCI SA). The international contact centre group not only
moved into its own R250 million custom-built head office in Umhlanga in Durban, but also walked away with two impressive industry awards.
Recognizing the best performing companies and individuals from across the industry,

(BPESA) KwaZulu-Natal (KZN) presented CCI SA employee, Gareth Phillips, with the Best Support Workforce Planning Professional
award in the Individual Category and in the Company Category, CCI South Africa, with the Innovation Programmes for Employee Health & Wellness Award.
In addition, CCI South Africa walked off with the Investor of the Year Award at the annual South African Premier Business Awards event.
Hosted by The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) in partnership with Proudly South African and Brand South Africa, the awards recognise ‘business
excellence and honours enterprises that promote the spirit of success and innovation as well as job creation, good business ethics and quality’.
“We are thrilled with the awards we have received this year,” says CCI SA managing director, Mark Chana. “Recognition from the industry
reinforces our commitment to this important, dynamic and rapidly growing sector. We are equally proud of the investment we are making in people, which in turn
contributes towards job creation and the economy both locally and nationally.”
Durban is increasingly being recognised as a world-class outsourcing destination, with an abundance of positive attributes in its favour,
including a well-educated labour force, great quality of life and proximity to all the other major cities in South Africa. The contact centre industry in KZN
currently employs over 5,000 people, many in the critically important 18-35 year old age group, making it an important socio and economic contributor to the
province’s economy. CCI South Africa currently employs 3000 full time staff.
According to The Department of Trade and Industry, the BPS sector is key for attracting investment and creating new jobs, especially in
the 18- to 35-year-old age groups, where job creation was most needed.
“Tonight’s event is all about our people and our shared dream to become the most respected outsourcer in Africa,” said CCI South Africa Managing Director,
Mark Chana, speaking at the company’s Annual Awards function at the ICC Durban on Saturday 06 February.
“I am so proud to be here to share the successes of the past year with each and every one of you and I have huge ambitions for what I believe we can do together in 2016, with our shared vision.”
Chana attributed the organisation’s success and phenomenal growth over the past five years, to the commitment, drive and hard work of its 3000+ employees.
“Although tonight we are singling out the top 52 employees & campaigns, this evening is a celebration of each and every member of the CCI South Africa family,” he added.
He emphasised his desire to have people working at CCI South Africa because they wanted to be there and not because they needed to, and committed his efforts to
continue achieving ‘performance through people’.
The prestigious occasion, with MC Joey Rasdien adding his particular brand of humour, is the highlight of the company’s business year, and took up all five exhibition halls at the
ICC complex for the 3500 invitees that included local and international guests. A total of R500, 000 in cash, a car and a number of big ticket prizes were given away and top South African entertainment
including AKA, Euphonik, and DJ Milkshake completed the glittering line-up for the evening.
“Ours is a high performance business”, Chana said, “so people are at the heart of the operation. Over the next five years, we anticipate creating an additional 12 000 jobs to meet
the employment needs of a burgeoning youthful population within the BPO sector.”

and our partners. We are incredibly proud of winning both the regional and national BPESA ‘Wellness in the Workplace’ Awards in 2015.
CCI Group CEO Martin Roe used the auspicious gathering as an opportunity to announce the acquisition of Jo’burg based Direct Channel and SimbaTech in Kenya, in order to take the CCI Group to a
‘new level’ in the realization of their dream to “conquer Africa.”
Chana recognized the importance of relationships in CCI’s business achievements, as well the support of partners and sponsors and thanked the major sponsors of the evening – Borwood (Platinum),
ICC Durban (Diamond) and First Technology (Gold), for their generosity and support.
